Near Top Portland Attractions

Oregon Zoo

Most hotels in the central city are within 2.5 miles (4 km) of the Portland International Rose Test Garden and within 3.5 miles (4.8 km) of the Oregon Zoo. Goose Hollow hotels like Park Lane Suites & Inn and Hotel deLuxe are the closest to Washington Park, which is best accessed by public transportation, so any downtown hotel or Northwest Portland hotel is a good choice.

Portland International Airport (PDX)

There are more than 25 hotels near Portland International Airport (PDX). Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, Hampton Inn Portland Airport and Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport are closest to the airport. Hyatt Place and Aloft Portland are located at Cascade Station, which includes several stores and restaurants and is connected to PDX via MAX Light Rail. Additional hotels are located east of Interstate 205, within 3 miles (4.8 km) of the airport.

Powell’s City of Books

If you want to be first in line at Powell’s City of Books, stay nearby. Minutes away from this massive independent bookstore, find McMenamins Crystal Hotel, Mark Spencer Hotel and The Clyde by Kasa. In the bustling Pearl District, stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Pearl District, four blocks away, or nearby Harlow Hotel on the North Park Blocks. Several Northwest Portland hotels are also a close walk or a quick ride on the Portland Streetcar, MAX Light Rail and a TriMet bus.

Oregon Convention Center and Moda Center

Over a dozen hotels are in the Lloyd and Central Eastside neighborhoods near the Oregon Convention Center and the Moda Center, home to the NBA’s Trail Blazers and frequent concerts and events. These neighborhoods have easy access to the MAX Light Rail and Portland Streetcar. From the Convention Center, the modern hotel KEX is a 5-minute ride on the Portland Streetcar and the Hotel Grand Stark, a historic hotel with bespoke rooms, is a 7-minute ride away, while Jupiter Hotel and Jupiter NEXT are only a 15-minute walk.

Pioneer Courthouse Square and Downtown Attractions

With room views of Pioneer Courthouse Square, The Nines is a luxury hotel packed with amenities on the MAX Light Rail line and close to the luxury shopping center, Pioneer Place. A few blocks’ walk from “Portland’s living room” in the middle of downtown, stay at Woodlark Hotel, The Bidwell Marriott, Royal Sonesta, AC Hotel, Moxy, Sentineland Heathman Hotel.

Pioneer Square is the center of downtown Portland and is surround by great shopping and places to eat. It’s also has movies playing on the big screen during the summer months and plenty of festivals during the year.

The Paramount Hotel and Hotel Vance are within walking distance of the verdant South Park Blocks and the Portland Art Museum. Chinatown

In Chinatown, you can stay at The Hoxton or The Society Hotel. The newest 5-star hotel in Portland is The Ritz-Carlton, which opened in 2023 and joins The Nines in providing top-of-the-line luxury downtown. Portland is also home to many historic 4-star hotels, like The Benson, Hi-Lo Hotel and Heathman Hotel, an eco-chic historic hotel built in 1927 and next door to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Close to Providence Park, Hotel deLuxe is an Art Deco boutique hotel, an homage to Hollywood glamor, including its in-house lounge, Driftwood Room.

About a 30-minute drive from downtown Portland, McMenamins Edgefield has a full-service spa and soaking pools. Back in Portland, McMenamins Crystal Hotel in downtown, and McMenamins Kennedy School in Northeast Portland, offer soaking pools but no spa services.
