Lloyd Shopping
There are plenty of deals in and around Oregon's largest shopping center.
Lloyd Center
Just across the Willamette River from downtown and blocks from the convention center, Lloyd Center — the state’s largest shopping center — houses 200 stores, a 10-screen movie theater and an indoor ice rink.
Fine jewelry, electronics and local gifts — you’ll find it all here. In fact, just about the only thing you won’t see is sales tax, because Oregon doesn’t charge any.
From Barnes & Noble to H&M (with stops at Old Navy, Vans and Ann Taylor Loft), the mall packs in favorite clothing brands for all ages and styles. But there’s much more than fashion in these aisles. Fine jewelry, electronics and local gifts — you’ll find it all here. In fact, just about the only thing you won’t see is sales tax, because Oregon doesn’t charge any.
Northeast Broadway
Books
A few blocks from the mall, one of the city’s best independent bookstores, Broadway Books, offers plenty of tantalizing new and used titles, plus a wide selection of thought-provoking magazines and just-right greeting cards.
Home & Crafts
Kitchen Kaboodle, a toy store for foodies, stocks a mouthwatering array of Fiestaware, Le Creuset cookware and food preparation gadgets — at last, you can pick up that ravioli stamp you’ve always dreamed about. But before you get cooking, be sure to stock up on staples like olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette at Benessere Oils, where you can create custom blends from a global selection of virgin, extra virgin and flavored olive oils. Elmer’s Flag and Banner, Portland’s largest flag store, offers 4,000 square feet of flags, banners, kites, weather vanes, windsocks and more — most made in the U.S. Pick up your souvenir city of Portland flag or a unique conversation-starter to proudly display at home.
Clothing, New & Vintage
Sweet Jayne offers a frequently changing selection of high-quality, fashion-forward women’s clothing at close-to-wholesale prices, as well as handmade-in-Portland jewelry and accessories. Bargain hunters can always get their fill scouring the racks at Here We Go Again, a vintage and consignment shop with heels, boots and dresses galore. The store’s staff aren’t just masters of their own inventory — they also keep an eye out for clothes their customers crave, and call when the items come into the shop.
Ladies can finish off their Portland look with a new pair of Birkenstocks from Footwise, an Oregon shoe store company specializing in Birks and other comfort brands like Keen, Teva and Chaco, plus socks and bags.
