The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

The KB4C returns to Hood River for the 18th year this July 5th-7th at the Event Site and has added swimming to the list of events. The entire event is wrapped in good feelings as the KB4C is the prime fundraiser for Project Koru, which helps young cancer survivors.

The weekend kicks off Friday with registration from 3 to 6 p.m., live music from Ten30, and a short film premiere by local Sensi Graves.
Saturday is the action day, with the 1-mile open water swim race starting at 8 a.m. At 10 a.m., the KB4C derby starts its 6-hour race, with plenty for spectators to see and participate in. Saturday night, Seattle’s Montlake Traffic is the headlining band.
Sunday starts with a 3-hour team relay swim race from 8–11 a.m. After that, the KB4C hopes for a big air competition but will decide what wind event to run based on wind conditions. Food carts and the Full Sail beer garden are open all weekend.

The KB4C derby is great fun for wind enthusiasts, swim fans, cancer survivors, people who like good food with cold beer, kids, and everyone in between.
