About Near Me Now — The Official Portland App

Travel Portland’s team of professional Portland fans has selected some of our favorite restaurants, attractions, shops, bars and more to give you a local’s perspective on this dynamic, delicious city. You’ll also find historic insights, public art and fun facts, as well as today’s events at venues all over town. Downloading Near Me Now — the official Portland app — is like having a personal guide to the city right in your pocket!

Because this is Portland, we highlight all of our favorite food groups (including doughnuts and snacks), not to mention the essential beverages: coffee, beer, wine and spirits. You can always find the nearest food truck (or food cart, as Portlanders call them) — Near Me Now includes Portland’s most comprehensive roundup of the 500-plus carts within city limits. Fact cards in the app give you additional context about the area you’re exploring and deepen your understanding of Portland, past and present.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Official Portland App

Where do I report technical issues or get technical support?

Please email online@travelportland.com with technical questions, issue reports or suggestions.

Why don’t I see very many events on the map?

Just as we limit the number of points shown in the app, we also limit the events to create a pleasant user experience. Near Me Now only shows events happening on the current day at selected venues that we’ve identified as being likely to have walk-in tickets available for visitors. It’s all about spontaneity and ease of access.

Why do I only see today’s events on the map?

Near Me Now has been designed to help visitors find things they can do right now. For longer-range planning, we host a comprehensive events calendar.

How will this be improved over time? Is there an enhancement roadmap? How do I provide ideas for future versions?

Right now, we’re focused on ironing out any kinks in version one of the app. If you have any suggestions for new features, we’d love to hear them. Please submit your suggestions to online@travelportland.com.

Is Near Me Now on travelportland.com the same as the mobile app?

We aim to make the web version of Near Me Now as similar as possible to the native app versions. Given the constraints and features available in the different platforms, there are some differences. For example, you can save your favorite locations in our native apps, but not on travelportland.com.

No Download Necessary

Prefer not to install anything? No problem! Near Me Now is still available as a web app, no download required. Click the purple “Near Me” button in the top-right corner of your screen.
