The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Broadway Books is excited to welcome back Arn Strasser for a poetry reading of his sixth collection, The Asymmetry of Silence. An emotional journey across time, people and places, this volume draws from a life being fully lived. The journey is varied: poems of loss, longing and silences, Zen-like meditations, stories of mermaids and make-believe poets, fables of lovers and love songs. Arn Strasser has been called a generous poet, and here we have a book that is again generous, filled with an awe for the mysteries of life.

Arn Strasser is an artist and writer who lived in Portland for many years and who now lives and works in Mexico, where he maintains a studio and is active in the cultural life of central Mexico. He graduated with a master's in Architecture from the University of Oregon. In addition to his poetry books, he has published books on architecture and drawing, available at Broadway Books. A couple of his artworks can usually be found at the cash register.
