The Ballad of Johnny Rose

The Ballad of Johnny Rose, is a spiritual rock opera in two acts with nine-piece band and twelve singers. After returning home broke and jobless, Johnny shelters from the rain in a nearby church. After the choir’s rehearsal, an old friend recognizes Johnny and invites him to the Sunday service. Johnny declines and leaves; however, his attempts to get home to his family are met with distractions. Finally making it home, he realizes he is nothing like his family.He journeys out once again, only to find more temptation and disastrous results.
Following these events, the Pastor gives Johnny a healing. Johnny joins a meditation class, but the struggle continues when family, then friends show up to reclaim him. Three spirits interfere and join the assault on Johnny’s psyche. Will Johnny succumb to peer pressure? Will he find his space? The resolution is presented with beautiful melodies, harmonies and haunting dissonance.
