The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Ah, love, that most universal of human emotions. It can engender so much: beauty, happiness, transcendence, confusion, heartbreak, resentment, murder…and children. Join one of Portland's newest vocal groups, the Radix Vocal Ensemble, for an eclectic, entertaining celebration of love in all its manifestations.

Delight in the lush, intricate perfection of medieval motets by Dunstable and Machaut; savor the beauty of time-tested folk melodies in “Durme, Durme” (arr. Parker) and “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme” (arr. Coates); pat your foot to Taylor Kuntz’s swingin’ close-harmony jazz arrangement of “Shiny Stockings” or the laid-back groove of “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” arranged by Radix member Naama Friedman. Hear fundamental truth in musical form in Ysaye Barnwell’s “On Children”; ponder the dark side of sisterly love in a new setting of the folk ballad “The Singing Bones” by Radix director Amy Stuart Hunn; and our closer will have you dancing in the aisles (sorry, you’ll have to come to find out what it is).
