Who were the people in a Viking Age society? What did they do every day? Historian Terri Barnes discusses the structure of society in Scandinavia from roughly AD 800 – 1100. From chieftains to farmers, women and children, the elderly and the enslaved, learn how Viking society functioned.
Terri Barnes is a medievalist historian from Portland, Oregon. Since 2004 she has been History faculty at Portland Community. In addition to the academy, she has 5 years of experience working in museums and with private art collections. History is her passion, and she counts herself fortunate to have a career where she can share it with people every day through the classroom and public speaking events.
