Clothing Stores
Long-running local shop Wildfang offers iconic apparel, shoes and accessories that transcend gender. Founded and owned by former Nike executive Emma Mcilroy, the brand’s style is a little bit street, a little bit chic, and all the way Portland. Nearby Kiriko Made specializes in fashionable apparel made from top-quality Japanese textiles — their elegant, long-lasting garments provide a stylish alternative to the cheap “fast fashion” trend.
For more high-quality apparel, peruse denim at Self Edge. They carry the finest brands from around the globe, making this an ideal place to score a new pair of jeans — other offerings include shirts, shoes, jewelry and more. Coveted brands can also be found at luxury boutique Mario’s, long-running Michael Allen’s and women’s shop Mercantile. For unmentionables worth talking about, visit underU4men, North America’s largest men’s underwear store.
Portland is also home to big-name, fashion-focused clothing stores. Nordstrom provides pure couture candy with legendary lines like Chanel and Gucci. Just blocks from the main store, fashion insiders snatch up apparel and accessories at up to 70% off original prices at Nordstrom Rack. Within a block of each other you’ll find both an expansive outpost of Philadelphia-based Anthropologie, which offers boho-chic women’s clothing and home goods, and J. Crew sister brand Madewell.
Stock up on workout wear at two stores located on Northwest Couch Street. National brand Athleta stocks a full range of gear (not to mention free fitness classes). Just two blocks away, lululemon trades in yoga gear for everyone.
