Portland aerial tours give you a bird’s-eye view of the city and region, from inside a plane, helicopter or even hot air balloon.
Oregon Helicopters takes off from a downtown Portland rooftop and offers tours of the city, flying right over the Willamette River. Based in McMinnville, 35 miles (56 km) southwest of Portland, Konect Aviation offers scenic tours of Portland, the Oregon Coast, Mount St. Helens and the Columbia River Gorge, as well as wine tasting tours in the Willamette Valley and the gorge.
Small plane tours
Envi Adventures flies out of Troutdale, 18 miles (29 km) east of Portland. Their offerings include flights through the Columbia River Gorge, over Portland or past Mount Hood. Pricing is per flight, not per passenger.
Hot air balloon tours
Departing from the Willamette Valley town of Newberg, 23 miles (37 km) southwest of Portland, Vista Balloon Adventures lets you soar above wineries and farmland. You can see 10 mountains on a clear day, as well as up to six other balloons around you.
