Know Before You Go
All tickets must be purchased online for the 2021 festival. Tickets are not available at the gate. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival website.
The annual bloom of cherry blossoms at downtown Portland’s Waterfront Park is impressive, but an even more colorful burst of flowers appears every spring just 32 miles (51 km) south of the city in Woodburn. There, the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival blossoms each spring, drawing thousands to come see acres upon acres of tulips in full bloom. This family-friendly festival will return in March 2021.
The owners of the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm have expanded beyond the flowers, adding a gift shop, café and family-friendly fun in the form of a kids’ area (complete with a “cow train” for rides through the fields, rubber duck races and pony rides). Gardeners can order bulbs for fall planting, and even the most amateur of photographers can capture incredible photos – you just can’t go wrong when you get 40 acres (16 ha) of tulips, a windmill and Mount Hood in the frame. Head to the farm’s website for a full list of festival activities and offerings.
Daily field reports (complete with photos) highlight conditions (muddy or dry) and bloom updates (early to in full bloom).
