Know Before You Go

Events listed in this article may be altered, postponed or canceled. For the most up-to-date information, please visit each event’s respective website.

In addition to gorgeous blooms and longer days, the arrival of spring is the harbinger of Easter festivities in Portland. Here are some of our favorite kid-friendly egg hunts, festivals and candy-centric events.

Annual Easter Events in Portland

Rabbit Romp at the Oregon Zoo

Grab a basket and head to the Oregon Zoo for its annual Rabbit Romp. Geared for children ages 10 and under, the event offers multiple egg hunts throughout the day. The plastic “Eco Eggs” are fully compostable and come filled with candy and prizes. After hunting, take your tykes to the petting zoo, bunny-themed craft stations and photo opportunities.

Free with zoo admission.

Hippity Hop Bunny Hop Through the Pearl

Jamison Square in Portland’s chic Pearl District is the starting point for the annual Hippity Hop Bunny Hop celebration. Nearby businesses offer sweet treats, face painting, art projects and stamps for a chance to win raffle prizes. Back in the square, kiddos will enjoy live music, photos with the Easter Bunny and more springtime fun.

Participation is free.

Easter Egg Hunt at Alpenrose Dairy

For over half a century, Alpenrose Dairy has hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt. The grounds teem with hundreds of chocolate eggs (keep an eye out for sticker-covered eggs which get you special prizes!). Bring a picnic to enjoy on the scenic property. Morning hours are reserved for little ones ages 3–5; those ages 6–8 are free to hunt after 12:30 p.m.

Participation is free.

Easter Brunch Cruise on the Portland Spirit

Hop aboard the Portland Spirit for a relaxing two-hour Easter Brunch Cruise along the Willamette River. Enjoy a delicious brunch buffet of Northwest cuisine, along with champagne, sparkling cider and Easter-themed entertainment.

Tickets are $60 for adults, $30 for children.

Peninsula Park Egg-Stravaganza

Possibly the most adorable event of the year, the annual Egg-Stravaganza egg hunt is held in North Portland’s verdant Peninsula Park & Rose Garden. Kids ages 18 months to 6 years old can search the grass for colorful plastic eggs full of candy and other surprises.

Registration is $5 per child, $7 for non-residents. Ages: at least 1 1/2 years old but younger than 6 years old.
