Cat Alvarado turned her experiences growing up evangelical into an award-winning and hilarious show that’s traveled across the country and around the world. Now it’s time to tape the special — and she’s doing it right here in Portland at the Curious Comedy Theatre.
Cat Alvarado has performed stand-up across the US and Canada for over 13 years. She released a comedy album in 2023 with Blonde Medicine Records called “Off-White”, which can be heard on Sirius XM, Spotify and YouTube. Most recently, Trad-Wife was featured as one of Sydney Fringe’s “Best Shows in Comedy” and won the Pittsburgh Fringe “Best Femme Lead Comedy” award. ABOUT THE FEATURE: Paul Clay has been making audiences laugh for over 40 years. An Emmy-nominated comedy writer whose credits include Designing Women and The Arsenio Hall Show, Clay has spent decades at the intersection of sharp writing and live performance.
Joining Cat for is Emmy-nominated comedy writer and performer Paul Clay — the man who mentored Cat when she started performing in 2013, and who is taping his own special on the same show. One generation of comedy handing off to the next, on the same stage.
