The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Ofelia: A Taste of the Motherland is a collaborative pop-up dinner between Mis Tacones and La Casa De Mama PDX.

Named after Polo (Mis Tacones co-owner)’s mother, this dinner highlights homestyle cooking from different regions of Mexico.

Each ticket includes a six-course meal, with specific details below. Note: all dishes are 100% Vegan.

The menu:

From La Casa De Mamá:

  • Volovan: puff pastry bites stuffed with Picadillo
  • Tesmole verde: a rich, savory broth with masa dumplings, fresh corn, and vegetables
  • Pescado à la Veracruz: seaweed tofu “fish” wrapped in a plantain leaf, over a bed of potatoes
  • Postre: passion fruit and coconut sorbets dolloped into almond brittle baskets, garnished with passion fruit syrup

From @mistaconespdx

  • Ofelia’s Egg Rolls (a childhood recipe)
  • Chop Suey: comida China-inspired, stir-fried vegetables in a savory sauce
  • Al Pastor “Fried Rice” with Just egg, peas, and carrots
  • Taco: Chinese BBQ “pork” seitan served in delicious, handmade tortillas

This will be an intimate prix-fixe menu; drinks sold separately.
