Ofelia: A Taste of the Motherlands

Ofelia: A Taste of the Motherland is a collaborative pop-up dinner between Mis Tacones and La Casa De Mama PDX.
Named after Polo (Mis Tacones co-owner)’s mother, this dinner highlights homestyle cooking from different regions of Mexico.
Each ticket includes a six-course meal, with specific details below. Note: all dishes are 100% Vegan.
The menu:
From La Casa De Mamá:
- Volovan: puff pastry bites stuffed with Picadillo
- Tesmole verde: a rich, savory broth with masa dumplings, fresh corn, and vegetables
- Pescado à la Veracruz: seaweed tofu “fish” wrapped in a plantain leaf, over a bed of potatoes
- Postre: passion fruit and coconut sorbets dolloped into almond brittle baskets, garnished with passion fruit syrup

- Chop Suey: comida China-inspired, stir-fried vegetables in a savory sauce
- Al Pastor “Fried Rice” with Just egg, peas, and carrots
- Taco: Chinese BBQ “pork” seitan served in delicious, handmade tortillas
