Join the Family and very special guests Federale and smilepile as we celebrate the release of our second album.

Family Worship Center is a rock-and-soul commune born in Nashville, Tennessee and reborn in Portland, Oregon. Drawing from strange, cult-leaning texts uncovered during a cross-country field-recording journey, the band has built a groove-driven, secular spiritual world rooted in communal soul and 1970s swagger. Their newest single, “Malibu by Midnight,” arrives as a recovered artifact rather than a conventional single. The song is a version of a composition the band “found,” preserved alongside fragments of mysterious text with no known origin. Recorded with restraint and warmth, it channels West Coast AM Gold, stacked harmonies, and late-night Laurel Canyon haze.

Since their 2023 full-length Kicked Out of the Garden, which spent months on the NACC 200 and appeared on NPR’s Live Wire Radio, Family Worship Center has toured nationally, continued work on a new record, and performed as the live backing band for cult legend Donnie Emerson. Known for their ecstatic live shows featuring horns, harmonies, and piano-driven gospel soul, the band has been praised by KEXP as “truly the best live band I have seen in years.”

Federale is a six-piece ensemble based in Portland, OR. Spearheaded by longtime Brian Jonestown Massacre bassist Collin Hegna, the band was conceived as an outlet to channel inspiration from ‘60s & ‘70s European soundtracks, particularly those from Italy made famous by the Spaghetti Western & Giallo genres. As well as the narrative-driven song stylings of Lee Hazlewood and Nick Cave. Reverb and Seduction is the legendary Portland band’s most immersive and varied album to date. A tour de force road trip from psych rock to country duets that never strays too far from the spaghetti western roots that inspired the band so many blood moons ago.

smilepile is a heartfelt, universal songwriting atop a matching musical journey through a cauldron of genres in which the band finds their own precious myths within the alchemy.
