Trackers Kid Con and Goblin Market
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Books. Crafts. Magical Goblin Eggs? Join Trackers first ever KidCon — a free community celebration to welcome the start of spring. Portland’s top children’s book authors and graphic novel creators will read from their work and lead book-themed craft projects. Parents and kids throw axes and shoot arrows together. And when a goblin sneaks past, chase them down for a dragon tear to trade for a goblin egg. Close the day with an open Spring Goblin Market where you can barter the treasures you’ve gathered. Stay to the very end.
At the Open Goblin Market, you can trade forgotten treasures and enjoy lively accordion music. Whether you’re brand new to Trackers or already part of the Village, this is the perfect time to connect and discover the magic.
Let the Mischief Begin. Long ago, a Tracker met Sock-on-a-Stick and asked to join the Goblin Market. The goblin said, No. So the Tracker went back to the Village and made their own. Now they keep building, trading, and imagining, hoping one day, the goblin returns. Make this the epic Goblin Market that finally brings back Sock-on-a-Stick
What to Bring and Barter
- Bits and bobs like bottle caps, shiny rocks, old keys, marbles
- Crafty things you made yourself: jokes, maps, charms
- Stuff you don’t want anymore: baubles, trinkets, broken clocks, tiny scrolls
- Items found in: junk drawers, closet corners, under beds, and couch cushions
What NOT to Barter:
- No money, feathers, or anything with cash value
- No food, trading cards, or items larger than a toaster
- No dangerous things, metal sharps, or banned items
- No bartering younger (or older) siblings, even the annoying ones.
Goblin Market Rules
- As dictated by the Goblin Council, who still await Sock-on-a-Sticks’ return.
- All Trades are final. No take-backs. Fist bump to seal the deal.
- Only trade what you own. Not yours? Ask first. No “borrowing”.
- Respect the market. Ask before touching. No cheating. Never, ever.
- Keep it weird, wonderful, and magical. Sock-on-a-Stick may show up.
