WombSong
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Are you longing for more ritual or to drop into sacred space with others? Gather around this fire and join a small group of mothers and come together in the ancient practice of song sharing—rooted in supporting those who relate to the Mother archetype: the one who nourishes, holds, creates, and remembers. An intimate group of 12 women.
Move between sauna and cold water if desired, using heat and cold as ritual allies. Within the sauna, explore guided self-massage to soften and open the body’s tissues, followed by embodied toning to awaken and prepare the voice. From there, practice simple call-and-response circle songs (no prior singing experience required) and moments of sharing and reflection.
This group encourages you to show up as you are and practice being together through song, reflection, and embodied tools that support authentic expression. This song circle is not about sounding good; it’s about remembering the body and voice as a vessel for care, connection, and creation. The intention is to call in a different kind of beauty—one of authenticity and embodied feeling (all are welcome). Together, practice singing as a way to tend the inner Mother and to call forth the sacred through shared sound.
All voices are a gift. Please join in honoring voices and feeling into the power and nourishment that arises when they join together.
You are welcome to arrive early and enjoy the sauna and the cold plunge before the doors close to the public at 8 p.m., and the group begins. Be ready to enter the sauna clean, dry, and free of oils and lotions for self-massage. This may mean arriving early to shower and dry off, as well as settle and organize before the doors close at 8:10 p.m., and the circle begins. A robe is recommended, along with 2 towels and sandals. Although this is a guided gathering, the structure is an invitation and supports all people being at choice at all times. The circle holds space for open sharing and open hearts, and compassionate witnessing without trying to fix or change anyone’s experience.
Note: this event is open to anyone who identifies with the mother archetype in any way — this includes mothers of living or nonliving children, and mothers of nonhuman beings.
