Speaking American with Andrea Menchaca Hall

Speaking American is the latest show from Andrea Menchaca, a Portland-based comedian who brings her unique perspective as a mother and first-generation immigrant to her comedy. In addition to headlining all across the Pacific Northwest, she was named a “genius of comedy” by the Portland Mercury. Menchaca also co-hosts the weekly podcast Anxiety Twins with her partner, Lee H. Tillman, where they have freewheeling conversations about life as stand-up comics, movies they’ve seen, their child’s reading habits, and whatever else pops into their heads.
This event is part of Milagro’s “Mundo de las Mujeres,” its third annual Women’s History Month Festival, created to center the voices of Latina/e women whose creativity is shaped not only by culture and heritage, but by the realities of living, dreaming, and making art in a time when our communities are at the heart of national conversations.
