Laughs in Spanish Staged Reading
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
In Alexis Scheer’s new play, “Laughs in Spanish,” it’s Art Basel, and the stakes are high for the gallery that Mariana runs in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami. And when Mariana’s movie-star mother tries to help out, things get even more complicado. Laughs in Spanish is a fast-paced, cafecíto-induced comedy about art and success — and mothers and daughters.
This event is part of Milagro’s “Mundo de las Mujeres,” its third annual Women’s History Month Festival, created to center the voices of Latina/e women whose creativity is shaped not only by culture and heritage, but by the realities of living, dreaming, and making art in a time when our communities are at the heart of national conversations.
