The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Surrealist artists of the early 20th century adapted the game “Exquisite Corpses” as a means of bypassing realism and logic in favor of chance and collaboration. Based on a word-based parlor game, each contribution to the whole is made blind to the parts that came before, so that the whole creation isn’t revealed until the very end. This version will be visual-art based and made using a combination of ink pens, collage materials, alcohol markers, drawing pencils, watercolor, and colored pencils and is open to everyone 18 years and older.

Fun fact: While often shown as a human-like form with folds between the head, torso, legs, and feet, the name “Exquisite Corpses” actually came from one of the game’s original word-play versions that delivered the delightfully bizarre phrase: “The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine.”
