Matt Schu Solo

Matt Schu is an artist and children’s book illustrator from Portland, Oregon. He has illustrated picture books: Cut!, My Cat Does Ballet, the Cosmic Collisions, and Star and the Maestro. He is also the illustrator of the chapter books The Tontine Caper and The Islands of Elsewhere, among others. Schu’s paintings and drawings have been exhibited at Nucleus and Nucleus House galleries in Portland, both in solo and group exhibitions, and he was awarded the Regional Arts and Culture Council‘s Catalyst grant in 2020. He received a degree in art from the University of Oregon in 2015 and worked as a graphic designer before switching focus to book illustration and fine art.
