Concert at Christmas: A Popcorn Solstice
Bring some popcorn spirit into your holiday season! This year’s 64th Annual Concert-at-Christmas delivers festive cheer through cinematic sound, theatrical energy, and cherished tradition. Bruce Stark’s Popcorn Fantasia makes its world premiere, a lighthearted and imaginative tribute to film music. Leonard Bernstein’s Suite from On the Waterfront follows, rich in emotional intensity and urban drama.
The second half bursts with joy: Rimsky-Korsakov’s Dance of the Tumblers, Broadway hits from Wicked, and a nostalgic encore, John Williams’ Raiders March, performed by the PYP Alumni Orchestra. This program is a reminder that great music doesn’t always have to be “serious” to be deeply meaningful.
