Dust off your dancing shoes and join a festive night of Irish set dancing at the All Sets Céilí for a Samhain/Halloween Celebration. This month’s céilí celebrates Samhain, the ancient Irish festival marking the turn of the seasons. Costumes are welcome but not required—come as you are or join the fun in festive attire.

Bronnie Griffin brings a passionate, deeply expressive style to folk and traditional music, drawing on her years of immersion in Irish and related idioms. Preston Howard Wilde is a longtime devotee of Irish piping, specializing in the traditions of pre-famine Irish pipe music (circa 1780s–1840s). He has played uilleann pipes for over 20 years, taught for more than a decade, and studied with masters in Ireland, including Con Durham of Dingle. Preston has collaborated with luminaries such as Liz Knowles, Mick O’Brien, and Kevin Burke, and also crafts reeds for pipes, bringing a rare depth of expertise.

Maldon Meehan is a performer, teacher, and choreographer who specializes in Irish dance traditions, including sean-nós, set dancing, and old-style step. She holds a Master’s in Ethnochronology from the University of Limerick, Ireland, and has over 30 years of experience teaching and performing internationally. Her work has taken her to stages and festivals across the U.S. and Ireland, and she leads the Portland-based Maldon Meehan Dancers. Beloved for her clarity and warmth, Maldon makes Irish set dancing welcoming for all — blending tradition, community spirit, and plenty of fun.
