Sink into the rhythm of your breath and connect with your earthly body, drawing upon the deep, ancient wisdom of nature. Hosted by Portland’s wellness experts at woo-woo, Abbie will be a guide to feel interconnectedness, to experience what it means to use breath as a source of relation to yourself and everything around you. Following this grounding breathwork, transition into the powerful documentary Standing Above the Clouds, a story of intergenerational resilience and devotion to sacred land. Just as the film uplifts the voices of those standing for what is sacred, this breath practice invites you to listen inward, attune to ancestral wisdom, and tap into your own fierce love, lineage, and liberation.

ON SCREEN: Standing Above the Clouds

2024. Directed by Jalena Keane-Lee. Runtime: 1hr 25min. Not Rated.

When the massive Thirty Meter Telescope was proposed to be built on Mauna Kea, an uprising of kiaʻi (protectors) in Hawaiʻi and around the world dedicated their lives to protecting the sacred mountain from destruction. Through the lens of mothers and daughters in three Native Hawaiian families, Standing Above the Clouds explores intergenerational healing and the impacts of safeguarding cultural traditions.

After the film, sign the petition to protect Mauna Kea!
