The Art of Romanticizing Your Life in Journals
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
In this workshop, lifelong journaler and paper crafter Erin Fairchild of Journal As Altar will lead an inspired process to find yourself on your pages.
What does it mean to romanticize your life, even during turbulent times? How can you find magic and romance in the mundane, without relying on spending tons of money or living a lavish lifestyle? How can you romanticize being good neighbors, friends, partners, and community members? Answer: Through creative journaling practices.
In this interactive workshop, explore how to crack open perfectionism and all-or-nothing thinking that can inhibit creative vision, how to capture lives through various journaling modalities (including junk journaling), and nerd out about favorite art supplies.
In this hands-on, 1.5-hour workshop, you can expect:
- Affirmations to crack perfectionism
- Interactive writing prompts
- To connect with other creatives
- Time for self-reflection and creativity
- A Journal as Altar goodie bag
The event will be followed by a 30-minute social hour, during which you can make new friends and, if you are feeling inspired, use some of the tools and tips you learned in the workshop.
To prepare for class, please bring:
- A new or active journal to work in
- Any favorite writing and creative supplies to use in your books
- Any tools you need to create a supportive, energetic container (such as candles, blankets, and snacks for nourishment)
Some shared supplies will be offered (though no journals will be provided), and each participant will leave with a Journal As Altar goodie bag.
