North Plains, a short 30-minute drive from Portland, is best known for the beloved Elephant Garlic Festival — its signature event, holding a lively three-day celebration each August. At the heart of it all is Stinkee, a charming and cuddly garlic bulb mascot, who captures the spirit of this family-friendly event. The festival brings locals and visitors alike together to enjoy live music, artisan crafts, engaging activities and mouthwatering garlic-infused fare, all in a welcoming, community-centered atmosphere.
