Karma Rivera: Celebrating Hip-Hop & Rap
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
More than a show—it’s a homegrown celebration. Backed by a full band, Karma brings her sound to life with the energy and purpose that’s made her a force in Portland’s music scene. In honor of Black Music Month, this set is a tribute to rhythm, resilience, and community, up close and rooted in the Northwest.
“Escapism is usually the theme,” says Karma Rivera, whose music blends melodic rap flows with drum-and-bass-forward beats to create an experience that’s both reflective and high-energy.
Karma Rivera is a rapper, producer, and performer whose work explores identity, joy, and resilience through a genre-fluid sound shaped by Hip-Hop and Rap influences. Born in Chicago and based in the Pacific Northwest, she’s become a standout voice in Portland’s music scene, known for her magnetic stage presence, clever wordplay, and deep roots in the local creative community. Her performances go beyond entertainment—they make space for connection, release, and showing up fully as yourself.
