This year, Opera in the Park will present Verdi's timeless masterpiece LA TRAVIATA. A heart-breaking love story featuring one of the most iconic and romantic scores of all time, LA TRAVIATA is perhaps Verdi’s most well-known opera. Contrasting party scenes with tender, intimate moments, it’s a must-see opera event.
Opera in the Park Portland is passionate about continuing to bring FREE world-class opera to our Portland area community. This year the event will take place in Portland's other Rose Garden at Peninsula Park.

Opera in the Park invites you to experience the magic of live opera in the heart of the city. Returning to the beautiful Peninsula Park for a free outdoor performance of Georges Bizet’s Carmen —one of the most passionate and enduring operas of all time.

Set on a grand stage in front of the park’s historic gazebo, this open-air concert features a star-studded cast, a full orchestra and chorus, conducted by Maestro Nicholas Fox. This year, the performance will also feature dancers from Espacio Flamenco. Come early, bring a blanket or lawn chair, and enjoy an unforgettable evening of music, drama, and community.
