Día de los Muertos
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Every year, El Programa hosts a Día de Muertos celebration to honor the life and legacy of those who have moved on to the next phase of existence. Día de Muertos known as the Day of the Dead, originated in Mexico and is celebrated globally with various traditions and customs in early November. The event will include traditional dances by a local Danza Azteca and an after-school Baile Folclórico group, community altars, a fashion show — or pasarela — with traditional Día de Muertos costumes, a live muralist, storytelling circles, a mariachi band, kid’s activities, and more. This is a perfect event to bring the whole family to learn, celebrate, and commemorate together.
