Shorts by Thom Hilton
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Kick off Pride season with a collection of four shorts by local queer filmmaker (and co-host of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Clinton Street Theater) Thom Hilton.
Synonymous With (2021, 12 min) — A student’s increasingly intimate line of questioning causes his interview with a local horror host to take a vulnerable turn.
One Drift and We All Go Home (2022, 14 min) — Kenai, Alaska. July 1998. Commercial fishing has been closed for nine days. Dozens of workers have lost nearly an entire year’s income waiting for regulations to lift… all while a nearby tourist spot teems with joyfully unregulated sport fishermen.
You Look Pretty Up Here (2023, 20 min) — In the wake of a tense breakup, a young actress accidentally crashes her ex-boyfriend’s retreat to a remote Oregon cabin.
Matinee Baby (2024, 19 min) — In this raunchy and outlandish queer comedy, best friends Robby and Noah-Lee — employees at Portland’s historic Clinton Street Theater — find themselves confronted by a parade of increasingly wacky, genre-tinged suitors.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the production of Thom’s new film, Waking Up From a Nap on a Long Day of Doing Nothing, scheduled to shoot in Portland later this year. The film’s crowdfunding campaign ends on June 2 — come give it a strong finish and learn more about how you can be involved with the upcoming project.
