Nine years later, Jesse (Ethan Hawke) travels across Europe giving readings from a book he wrote about the night he spent in Vienna with Celine (Julie Delpy). After his reading in Paris, Celine finds him, and they spend part of the day together before Jesse has to again leave for a flight. They are both in relationships now, and Jesse has a son, but as their strong feelings for each other start to return, both confess a longing for more.

From Stephanie Hsu: Before Sunset: the second of the three-part Linklater ‘before’ trilogy. One of my favorite love stories. If you’re not familiar, each film follows the same couple exactly 9 years later. I thought about showing the last of the trilogy but the rest of the movies I am screening are pretty full of the big-feels i thought starting easy with a kind of perfect love story would be a bit gentler to the soul. plus, it’s just so good. goosh, goosh, goosh.
