The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Join a free Summer Reading and Book Release. The reading will feature powerful work written by participants from our in-person spring writing program. This evening is a celebration of the writers, their work and their dedication to writing with their communities. Readers will include adults and veterans in recovery, youth in alternative school settings, adults living with developmental disabilities, youth experiencing homelessness, members of low-income housing and assisted living communities, and many others.

This diverse collection of voices will have their pieces published in the 64th anthology, How We Are Together. The book and its title are reflective of the cultural moment, where local communities are gathering and caring for each other in the face of political and cultural aggression and abandonment. The title also reflects the way the writing groups gather to create, share, and support. At the start of each season, each writing circle creates "group guidelines" to create a safe and welcoming space to write, literally defining how to work together.

Copies of the anthology will be available for purchase at the event.
