SOLVE’s Portland Community Cleanup
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Help protect coastal habitats and connect with partners, SOLVE Oregon, and other ocean change-makers in the Portland community. Volunteers are invited to join Oceanic Global and Corona USA for a litter cleanup of the area surrounding Sellwood Riverfront Park, preventing marine debris and microplastics from entering the waterways.
This event is part of Pick It Up, Portland, a city-wide event focusing on litter removal at four different sites throughout the community.
Meeting Point: Meet the team in the parking lot of Sellwood Riverfront Park. Look for the SOLVE signs.
Accessibility: Sellwood Riverfront Park is largely ADA accessible, but please expect mixed terrain and sandy conditions. Most cleanup activities at this location should be able to accommodate a wide range of abilities and ages. Some cleanup activities that are on the shoreline may not be accessible.
What to pack: Volunteers will be provided with clean-up supplies, including gloves and bags. Come dressed comfortably for the clean-up; closed-toed shoes are required, and bring your reusable water bottle. If you'd like, feel free to bring your own gardening gloves and reusable bags.
