Queer Radio Hour Pride Concert
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
The Portland Lesbian Choir is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated spring PRIDE concert, Queer Radio Hour, taking place at the Parkrose Performing Arts Center. As the Portland Lesbian Choir completes its 39th season, this concert promises to be uplifting and empowering, filled with powerful messages of hope, resilience, and queer love. These songs have resonated with the queer community in their time, including:
- I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
- Closer by Tegan and Sara
- Closer to Fine by Indigo Girls
- I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston
- I Want to Break Free by Queen
- People Like Us by Kelly Clarkson
- You Need to Calm Down by Taylor Swift and more…
The performance will celebrate the choir’s ongoing commitment to LGBTQIA2S+ visibility, community, and the transformative power of music. Under the award winning artistic leadership of Mary McCarty, this PRIDE concert will take the audience on a journey celebrating our queer existence. In this time where queer rights are under attack, the Portland Lesbian Choir refuses to be silenced and will continue to sing truth to power.
