The Whags plus Dadweed

An expansive evening of Bluegrass and Jam featuring The Whags from Seattle and Portland's own Dadweed. The two bands will traverse their catalogs, inflected with the heady and exploratory jam sections that are the delightful hallmarks of these genres. The Whags, who borrow from early Americana as much as they do '70s funk, have built up a reputation in Seattle for "sounding like the Dead" while managing to put their own spin on the time-worn traditions of that band. Portland's buzzing Bluegrass outfit Dadweed makes for a natural pair, bringing an acoustic counterpart that relies on deep harmonies and fascinating fingerwork.
