The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Yoga Nidra, often described as “enlightened sleep” or “yogic sleep,” is a guided, lying down practice, inviting relaxation into both the physical body and the subtle layers of the Self. During this practice, engage in sense withdrawal: gently turning awareness inward and softening attention to external stimuli. Rather than blocking out senses, allow them to fade into the background, creating space to illuminate the subtle energy, vision, and wisdom within. In this state, the mind becomes calm and receptive, deepening relaxation and opening a clear pathway to hidden layers of wisdom present in the vast internal landscape. Through this healing journey, hover between wakefulness and sleep, illuminating the subconscious portal of the mind. This liminal space invites you to become the witness of everything that is arising and dissolving in your field of awareness that you don’t have access to when you're awake. This practice allows you to experience moments of profound rest alongside glimpses into hidden, unseen realms to awaken creative potential. This will take place before the Akira Kurosawa film Dreams.

ON SCREEN: Dreams

1990. Directed by Akira Kurosawa. Runtime: 1hr 59min. Rated PG.

A collection of magical tales based upon the actual dreams of director Akira Kurosawa. This imaginative Japanese production presents a series of short films by lauded director Akira Kurosawa. In one chapter, a young boy spies on foxes that are holding a wedding ceremony; the following installment features another youth, who witnesses a magical moment in an orchard. In the segment “Crows,” an aspiring artist enters the world of a painting and encounters Vincent van Gogh (Martin Scorsese). Many of the films in this inventive movie are tied together by an environmental theme.
