Portland Winter Light Festival: 10th Anniversary Opening Ceremony

The 10th Anniversary Opening Night Ceremony features Soriah’s throat singing, a flaming piano, fire performers, and LED dancers.
The 10th Anniversary Opening Night Ceremony offers an electrifying preview of the performances and talent featured throughout the festival.
Soriah will kick off the event with a mesmerizing throat-singing performance, surrounded by participants from the Light Procession holding glowing lanterns. Adding to the spectacle, Mike Danner will play on the iconic flaming piano created by The Ministry of Stupid Ideas, setting the stage for the following fire performances. The fire performers, who will showcase their talents later in the festival, include Spinning Spades, Kyra, a new group led by Syrah Rae and Kacey Incerpi, and the Pyromancers featuring Melody Kay. Each night of the festival’s activation at Pioneer Square will spotlight these fiery acts.
The ceremony continues with The Last Regiment Syncopated Drummers energizing the crowd, joined by CG Entertainment dancers dressed in stunning LED costumes. Together, they create a vibrant celebration to launch the festival.
