Join a one-of-a-kind event showcasing original music for the season, written and performed by Portland-based artists. Whether you hang your Christmas lights on November 1 or think "Jingle Bells" should be banned, there's a song for you. This hilarious, heartfelt romp through the holidays features local songwriters who’ve turned their traditions, joys, and gripes into catchy tunes. If you're tired of hearing the same old holiday songs, enjoy what has been lovingly called "the most wholesome show of the year."
Holiday Hits is a co-writing event hosted by the Portland Songwriters Guild, a Portland-based 501(c)(3). Songwriters are given two rules: 1. The song must be written specifically for this show, and 2. At least two songwriters from the greater Portland area must write it. Expect to see the stage filled with cheer, laughter, and an array of songs such as last year’s hits: 'My Sweet Stack of Christmas DVDs,' 'Bring 'Em Inside' (a song about inviting Christmas carolers), and 'A Christmas To Tap To,' which includes a choreographed tap dance routine.
