The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Varied soundscapes of surf-psych, dream pop blend, and alternative jam band improvisation with Goodnight House, Sneaker Wave, and Breezy.

Goodnight House is the musical outlet of Portland's Joel Lane. Lane articulates detailed stories of transition, relationships, mental illness, and empathy over lush and varied musical backdrops evoking emotion-forward artists, including Sufjan Stevens, Pinegrove, and Smashing Pumpkins. Lane's sense of melody is the unifying element over a diverse, bordering on dizzying, array of aesthetic flavors, one minute evoking the raucous distortion of Hum, the next minute whispering confessions over fingerpicked acoustic guitar a la Mark Kozelek, then instantly transitioning into Pavement-esque garage rock or Wilco-indebted alt-country.

Sneaker Wave is an indie rock band originally from a basement in Portland. The project blends a modern surf and psych sound with references to 80s jangle pop and contemporary dream pop. The band’s name, itself a reference to a natural phenomenon common on the rainy coast of the Pacific Northwest, pays homage to the influence of the city and region that the band calls home.

Breezy was formed in Portland in 2018 after Jay Robichaux saw Leandro Barrientos on the Clackamas River. Just moments after Leo caught his first winter steelhead, Jay found Leandro on Facebook. The two began messaging and met up the following week to jam, and a band forged out of a love of fishing and the outdoors began. Jay had been writing and playing with drummer Nick Mentillo since 2014. Not a newcomer to the Portland Music Scene, Nick has a history of performing with bands like The Charlie Darwins and Marlette. Jay invited Leandro Barrientos and brother Niki Barrientos to play with Nick at his home studio. That first night, the band wrote two songs and cemented a style of improvisation and musical conversation that has informed their music ever since. Newest Breezy member and virtuosic multi-instrumentalist, Will Traylor, brings an eclectic and rich mix of sonic influences including Leon Russel, Steely Dan, The Grateful Dead as well as a background in Jazz and fusion.  The result is a sonic amalgam of rich musical histories informed by psychedelic free-form jamming.
