The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

The seventh biennial Rad Myco returns to the 40 acres of Brown Bottle Farm for a four-day family-friendly celebration of mushrooms, lichens, and the people who love them.

Throughout the gathering, hundreds of naturalists, artists, and outdoor enthusiasts gather to watch fungi-inspired performances and learn from dozens of workshops and demonstrations. The farm’s barn will house an international art show, while the property will be dotted with various interactive art installations. Several fungi-themed competitions will also offer attendees the chance at prizes — with the most popular being the MycOlympics: a team-based series of challenges pushing participants' love for fungi to the limit.

Rad Myco highlights innovative and eclectic approaches to appreciating fungi alongside the more familiar topics of identification, toxicology, and personal consumption. This uniqueness has brought the event great notoriety over its 14-year history, as is noted in the acclaimed book Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake, which dedicates a chapter to the event and its founder, Peter McCoy.

Each Rad Myco offers a fresh array of workshops, interactive installations, and community-building activities, with the 2024 incarnation looking to be the event’s biggest and boldest to date. Early Bird tickets for the event are now available, and applications are open for educators, performers, vendors, and artists seeking to contribute to this vibrant event.
