How odd it is to be. How do you navigate these seas of ecstasy and desperation? The Last Lost Canada Goose searches for illumination within the unknown. Fertile Ground veterans Mary Rose and Nathaniel Holder bring their utterly singular form of embodied improvisation to this collaboration featuring the original music of Molly Mayo, resulting in a fascinating exploration of the surprisingly essential question, “What happens when you are inspired by the lonely plight of the last lost Canada goose?” Half concert, half movement, half improvisation, you don’t want to miss this playful and touching new work, full of music, mysterious glances, a heavy suitcase, and unexpected spotlights. You’ll surely find something at the lost and found that you didn’t know you were missing.

Portland Action Theater Ensemble (PATE) has its roots in Action Theater improvisation, a practice that grew out of physical theater, dance, and meditation. Through tuning in to the sensory experience, practitioners hone awareness of the moment and respond with movement, sounding, and speech, tapping into the body’s deep conversation with the imagination. PÂTÉ’s Mary Rose and Nathaniel Holder are long-time collaborators with shared practices in Action Theater improvisation and contact improvisation dance. They previously presented Fertile Ground performances, Free Box, and festival hit Too Late with YOCTOtheatre.
