Portland Revels Presents: Emerald Dragon, a Children's Celebration of Light
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Join Portland Revels to help Drago the Emerald Dragon and his best friend navigate dark and sometimes scary water, friendly singing fish (built, puppeted, and sung by the Revels Children’s Chorus), and a worried babysitter to find a magic gem that will give Drago their deepest wish — to be a ballet dancer. The Children’s Revels program was developed to provide young children and their families with a fun, magical and meaningful performing arts experience that we hope will inspire a lifelong love of the arts and build the audiences of tomorrow.
Presented during the quiet week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Children’s Revels productions feature the Children’s Chorus. They are inspired by the central themes and ideas of that year’s Midwinter Revels production. The shows draw on puppetry, clowning, audience participation and music to delight our youngest Revelers year after year. Audience members can expect to enjoy a one-hour production, especially for ages 2 to 7 — but all ages are welcome.
