Join Outlet PDX and the Honeyed Words bookstore for a free summer celebration of storytelling. Summer Story Fest will unite over 25 zinesters, authors, and storytellers throughout Sonny’s House of Tattoos and Treasures, Outlet PDX, and New New Crusher Court.

Folks who come through will find dozens of artists and authors, the Zine Bike by Shay Mirk (a cute, unique trike and mobile zine library full of zines and comics for all), as well as the cheeky, all-ages take on summer reading challenges to earn prizes. Outlet PDX, Portland’s premier risograph print shop and zine library, will host a fun walk-up zine workshop – no reservations or experience required. Honeyed Words, a new queer bookstore residing inside Sonny’s House of Tattoos and Treasures, will host pop-up readings and signings by Aiden Thomas (New York Times Bestselling Author of The Sunbearer Trials and Cemetery Boys), Emeric L. Kennard (Lambda Literary Award-nominated and contributing artist to Roots: Korean Diaspora), Neil Cochrane (The Story of the Hundred Promises), Zaji Cox (Plums for Months), and Karina Agbisit (contributing author to Nonwhite and Woman).

After a day of sunshine and good books, catch the official Summer Story Fest after-party on Saturday evening hosted by the incredible Comics Club. They’ll have good vibes and interactive readings by indie cartoonists M. Sabine Rear, Cam McCafferty, Emeric L. Kennard, Diddly Marsh, and Lindsey Danae Perez – all organized by Ignatz-nominated local artist Liz Yerby.

Check out this weekend of good food, great books, workshops and pop-up readings at the best bookish block party of the summer.
