The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Through the power of sound and environment, Home:Lost confronts the stark realities of displacement in various forms. These might include environmental degradation, wartime destruction, the plight of immigrants and refugees, and the experiences of those who live on the streets. Amidst the themes of loss and longing, Home:Lost will also offer glimpses of shared hope, fostering empathy, understanding, and dialogue about the urgent issues facing the loss of physical, cultural, and spiritual homes.

Home:Lost is an art installation made in collaboration among students in the Sound Art Installation Course (Instructor: Anwyn Willette) and Scene Design I (Instructor: Solomon Weisbard).

The installation will consist of 6-10 unique sound and scenic environments (“pods”) through which the viewers can move freely. Each pod will be designed by a team of students from each class, with faculty support, guidance, and feedback.
