The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Spend the day immersed in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Verdancy Project with artist and instructor Beth Wilson. Intuitive art is about letting go. Release all goals or expectations about a finished product. Strive to forget any technique or “how to” ideas we hold about drawing or art making. Instead, drop into the deep knowing and allow hearts and bodies (i.e., intuition) to lead. In this introduction, lean into what feels good and play with color, explore mark-making and rediscover familiar materials through guided exercises.
If you identify as an artist, this is a great way to open yourself to new insights about your creative process. You do not need to be an artist or even artistic to participate. All you need is a willingness to sit with yourself, to let go of expectations, to be ok with more questions than answers and a desire to play. As you continue to practice what you learn in this workshop, you will find that intuitive art is a remarkable tool that enables you to listen closely to your body and your wise intuition that is intrinsic in all of us.
