Panchiko
An experimental English indie band that originally formed in the late '90s, Panchiko's improbable rise to success came two decades later, long after they'd broken up. Formed in Nottingham while its members were still teenagers, Panchiko recorded a single D.I.Y. EP, cheekily titled D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L, during their original era, before going their separate ways in 2001. In the late 2010s, a sonically degraded copy of their lone CD found its way online, and a cult following sprang up around this mysterious, unidentified band. This new fan base mounted a search and eventually managed to contact the group's original members, who subsequently reunited in 2020. After re-releasing their original output, Panchiko mounted a revival that yielded two new albums, 2023's Failed at Math(s) and 2025's Ginkgo.
