The Oregon Mandolin Orchestra invites you to join a spring celebration with a musical program that features a luscious array of pieces showcasing the addition of guitars to the OMO ensemble.

"This year’s spring program will be the first OMO performance to feature our new – and still growing – guitar section,” said Christian McKee, OMO musical director.  McKee said he admired the sound of mandolin orchestras with guitars, which are the norm in Europe and Asia. “By way of getting started, this program includes a number of pieces that wouldn’t have made sense to play without guitars.” McKee has crafted a globe trotting program that ranges from somber music by Norweigan composer Edvard Grieg to Japanese children’s songs, a three selections from a suite by a modern Classical Mandolin Society of America composer and a playful piece from the French ballet often featured in films and cartoons.
