2020 marks the 100th birthday of Brubeck and we're joining in the nationwide centennial celebration. This exclusive evening will feature songs Brubeck made famous such as, "Take Five," and his own classic compositions, "The Duke" and "In Your Own Sweet Way."
Canby Pioneer Chapel's grand structure was built in 1884, making it one of the grandest and oldest buildings in the state of Oregon.
About the artist: "Ray Hardiman has played jazz piano professionally since the age of 16. Growing up in New England, he had the opportunity to play in jazz clubs in Newport Rhode Island and Boston Massachusetts, such as The Copley Plaza Hotel and the Montreal Jazz Festival. He is listed in the compilation “Who’s Who of Rhode Island Jazz.” Since moving to Portland Oregon in 1990, Ray has performed in a variety of groups at local Jazz venues including the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, The Sweetbriar Inn, The Benson Hotel, The Heathman Hotel, The Nines, The Hilton, Jimmy Maks and opening for Mel Torme’ at the Eugene Hult Center. Ray brings warmth and sensitivity to the piano, with lush chords and classic jazz melodies that are enjoyed by all ages!"
