The music producer James Kennedy was born on January 24, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia. Kennedy first became interested in music when he was about eight years old and began producing and mixing songs with the help of his father. When he was 16, he started his own production company called Nappy Boy Productions and began working with major labels such as Atlantic Records and Def Jam Recordings. In 2013, at 21, James achieved mainstream success with a single by rapper Ace Hood.
