Natan Dvir: Platforms
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
"New York-based photographer Natan Dvir brings a bit of the big city to Portland’s Blue Sky Gallery with his series of subway portraits, “Platforms.” The pictures capture New Yorkers in between places, waiting for the next train to arrive and whisk them to their destination. Some read books, some scroll through social media, some engage with their fellow transit-riders, but all are brought together by this quintessential experience of city living." – Oregon Arts Watch
Opening night artist talk Thursday February 6th from 5-6pm. Focused on New York City’s unique underground architecture and the people who temporarily pass through it, the artist reflects upon detachment, separation, personal space, individualism, loneliness, and momentary connections in the underground landscape of an urban metropolis.
